  1.                                           FOCUSING

  3. The eyepieces can be focused by placing the focusing rod in the hole where the lamp and microscope arms rotate.

  5. With the focusing rod in place, adjust the 
  6. beam width to give a narrow parallelepiped.  
  7. The beam should be in center of your field 
  8. of view.  If it is not be sure the light tower 
  9. rotation is in the click position, center knob 
  10. at bottom of light tower near beam width 
  11. control. Looking through the eyepieces 
  12. (one at a time) rotate the eyepiece 
  13. counter-clockwise until the beam is blurred 
  14. then clockwise until it just comes into focus.
  15.  
  16. Remove the focusing rod and you are ready 
  17. to examine the patient.
